The NEC Color Project Pak includes a CD-ROM containing the following 
items.



- SuperScript(TM) 150C and 750C printer driver and On-line User's Guide

- Sesame Street Art Workshop and help files

- The Print Shop and On-line User's Guide

- Adobe Acrobat Reader



Note: Sesame Street Art Workshop software requires a sound card to run 
the Sesame Street demos and to get the sound while creating your 
pictures. A 256-color VGA card or better is required for Sesame Street 
graphics.



This CD-ROM is used to install the NEC SuperScript 150C and 750C printer 
drivers, Sesame Street software, and The Print Shop software and on-line 
User's Guide. In addition, this CD-ROM is also used to Play the Sesame 
Street software once it is installed. The Sesame Street software is not 
installed to your hard drive but requires the CD-ROM to be in your CD-
ROM drive in order to run the program.





INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Windows 95)

Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. If Windows 95 CD Autoplay is 
enabled, the installation menu will launch automatically. (It takes 
about 30 seconds for the screen to first appear.) The Autoplay feature 
allows Windows 95 to automatically detect and play a CD that is inserted 
into the drive.


If the menu does not launch automatically:

1.  Click on the Start button and select Run.

2.  Type D:\NEC.EXE (assuming the CD-ROM drive is D; if not,
use the appropriate drive).

3.  Follow the menu instructions to install or use each component of the 
CD-ROM. 

4.  Restart Windows after exiting the installation menu.



To temporarily disable Windows Autoplay:

- Hold down the SHIFT key while inserting NEC Color Project Pak 
CD-ROM. (Hold down the SHIFT key for approximately 10 seconds.)





INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Windows 3.1x)

1. Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.

2. Select Run from the File menu.

3. Type D:\NEC.EXE (assuming the CD-ROM drive is D; if not, use 
the appropriate drive).

4. From the installation menu, select the item(s) you wish to 
install.

5. Restart Windows after exiting the installation menu.



Sesame Street Art Workshop

Installation:


1. Click on the Sesame Street package.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing.


Launching the Game (Windows 95):
1. Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. If Windows 95 CD Autoplay is

The Print Shop

1. Click on The Print Shop package.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing.



SUPERSCRIPT 150C and 750C PRINTER DRIVERS

Installing under Windows 95

1. Click on Start, highlight Settings, then click on Printers.

2. In the Printers window, double-click on Add Printer.

3. The first in a series of Add Printer Wizard windows is displayed; 
click on Next>. 

4. Click on Have Disk.

5. Insert driver diskette no. 1 in drive A (or B). Or, if you would like 
to install using the CD-ROM, click on Browse and locate the appropriate 
directory (150C or 750C) in the drivers folder on the NEC Color Project 
Pak CD-ROM; click on OK.

6. Click on Next>. 

7. Make sure LPT1: Printer port is highlighted; click on Next>. 

8. Click on Finish.


The installation of the driver files will start.

9. At the end of the installation, you will be asked to
remove the diskette and restart Windows.


Installing under Windows 3.1x

1. Open the Control Panel in the Main window

2. Double-click the Printers icon.

3. Click on Add.

4. Select Install Unlisted or Updated Printer.

5. Specify a (or b). Or, if you would like to install using the CD-ROM 
click on Browse and locate the appropriate directory (150C or 750C) in 
the drivers folder on the NEC Color Project Pak CD-ROM.

6. Click on Install.

The CD-ROM Setup program gives you the option of launching the 
SuperScript 150C On-line User's Guide or the 750C On-line User's 
Guide.


ADOBE ACROBAT READER

====================

Adobe Acrobat software gives you instant access to documents in
their original form, independent of computer platform. With the 
Acrobat Reader, you can view, navigate, print, and present any 
Portable Document Format (PDF) file.  For more information about 
Acrobat, see the README.TXT  file in either the Win31  or Win95 
directory in the ACROREAD directory on this CD.

KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH SUPERSCRIPT 750C and SuperScript 150C
========================================================================

Application Problems
---------------------

When using CorelDRAW!, the text that is converted to curves and combined 
is Printed as transparent or clear where the letters intersect.

When using PowerPoint, some of the shapes will be filled with black.  If 
you disable spooling, this will solve the problem.

When using PowerPoint, some of the gray fill, prints with short-edge 
stripes.

When using Adobe Acrobat Exchange 3.0 under Win 3.11 with the 
SuperScript 150C, the color bars on various output pages have vertical 
lines in them. 

Other Printers
--------------

The Lexmark 2050 and 2070 conflict with the NEC SuperScript printer 
drivers.  Remove the Lexmark printer drivers before installing the NEC 
SuperScript printer drivers.

DOS Printing
------------

When printing using DOS, you need to press the Paper button on the 
printer to complete the print job and eject the paper.

When using the color print head with the SuperScript 150C, text files 
will not print.

Envelopes
---------

The Monarch envelope is not supported with these printers.


Help Topics
------------

The help topic for Brightness and Contrast is incorrect.

The help topic for Color Balance is incorrect.

Status Monitor
--------------

The Status Monitor incorrectly reports the printer status for conditions
such as cover is open. If an error occurs and there is no obvious
problem, see the User's Manual for possible problems.

Out of Ink for SuperScript 750C
-------------------------------

Job will stop when out of ink but error message is not reported. Once
job is restated, the out of ink message is displayed.

T-Shirt Transfer Print Outs with the SuperScript 150C
-----------------------------------------------------

Output from t-shirt transfer might be dark and smeared if the picture
uses dark colors and heavy coloring.

Paper Jams in the SuperScript 150C
-----------------------------------

Status Monitor doesn't always report paper jams. Check the paper path
to see if there is a paper jam.


Printing a Test Page
--------------------

When using the SuperScript 150C, the test page will print in black and
white when using the color print head.
