Install the proper development tools on your system.
   MASM        6.11  (C:\MASM611)
   MSVC        1.52  (C:\MSVC)

        Make directory: md m2_bx
        copy zip file to directory
        pkunzip -d (Source Zip file)
   (NEC)copy 0AALT044.ROM to newbios.rom (Put in a different directory)

        execute: c:\masm611\bin\new-vars
        set MSDEVDIR=C:\MSVC *** or appropriate C/C++ directory ***
        Note: For ZDS build set ZDS switch to "1" in OEM.MAK (See APPENDIX).
        RUN: makeall.bat
        File compare: 0AALT044.rom newbios.rom

BUILD INSTRUCTIONS FROM ZIP WITH FULL CORE BIOS:

Note: This process assumes you are running in a Windows 95 DOS box and
      are using a working directory of c:\m2_bx. If you are using a
      different directory change any directory references to match.

1. Install the proper development tools on your system.

   MASM        6.11  (C:\MASM611)
   MSVC        1.52  (C:\MSVC)
   DOSXNT.386 (Add entry with path to the SYSTEM.INI [386Enh] section.)
   PKUNZIP.EXE 2.04g (or newer)

2. Set your environment as follows:

   winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
   COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
   TEMP=C:\TEMP
   PATH=C:\MASM611\BIN;C:\MASM611\BINR;C:\MSVC\BIN;C:\M2_BX\TEMP\EXE;
        C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
   LIB=C:\MASM611\LIB;c:\msvc\lib
   INCLUDE=C:\MASM611\INCLUDE
   INIT=C:\MASM611\INIT
   HELPFILES=C:\MASM611\HELP\*.HLP
   TMP=C:\MASM611\TMP
   windir=C:\WINDOWS
   MSDEVDIR=C:\MSVC *** or appropriate C/C++ directory ***

3. Install the version of bios to be built to your development system.
   - Create a directory tree for the Bios source code. (ie. md C:\M2_BX)
   - Unzip the Bios tree to the root of the newly created directory.
     ( Example: C:\M2_BX> pkunzip -o -d (Source) )
   - Unzip the Release tree to the root of the newly created directory.
     ( Example: C:\M2_BX> pkunzip -o -d (Release) )
   - For ZDS build set ZDS switch to "1" in OEM.MAK (See APPENDIX).

4. To Build the BIOS run batch file below:
   makeall.bat

Note: Steps 5 through 8 are for special build cases, which can be skipped
in this release.

5. To add the Notebook bios files.
   - Change to the OBJ.NB directory ( cd c:\M2_bx\temp\obj.nb )
   - Unzip Notebook core files. ( pkunzip -o -d -sTHURSDAY c:\OBJNB110.zip )

6. To add the 630 core bios files.
   - Change to the TEMP directory ( cd c:\M2_bx\temp )
   - Unzip Notebook core files. ( pkunzip -o -d -sFRIDAY c:\6301219.zip )

7. To rebuild Notebook core:
   - Edit c:\M2_bx\temp\chipset\nbbios.mak and set the NB_ASMCORE flag to 1.
     ( If this is not done the Bios build will not use the rebuilt files. )
   - Run the supplied MNBC.BAT file from the root of the bios tree.

8. To rebuild the 630 core:
   - Run the supplied MAKECORE.BAT file. It will pause to let you check
     for error messages, press any key to continue as needed. When the core
     files have been built it will call the MAKEALL.BAT file that came with
     the Bios release you used and build a new Rom file. This file should
     compare 100% with the file originally supplied with the release.
