                           INSTALLATION NOTES
================================================================================

WARNING:  It is very important to follow these instructions as they are written.
Failure to update using the proper procedure may cause damage to your system.

Updating from BIOS revisions R0080 or later:

User can update BIOS flash image via either of the following methods...

   1. Extract files from the BIOS Update Package to a DOS bootable USB Flash Drive.
   2. Plug in the USB Flash Drive and reboot the server to boot from it.
   3. At the DOS prompt, type the name of the batch file <RUN.BAT>, please follow the batch file step.
   4. When the BIOS Update has completed successfully, you must reboot the system for the
      changes to take effect.
   5. During POST, access the <F2> BIOS Setup Utility when prompted.
   6. At the Main Menu Screen, press the <F9> key to reset BIOS defaults.
   7. Reset any preferred BIOS option settings
   8. Save the BIOS Settings and reboot server.

NOTE:
      DO NOT turn off the system or interrupt the BIOS update process.
      Doing so corrupts the BIOS and prevents your system from booting up. 
      If your BIOS becomes corrupted for any reason, you must read and complete the BIOS Recovery 
      Process described later in this section.

                        BIOS RECOVERY INSTRUCTIONS
================================================================================

The Recovery process can be initiated by setting the recovery jumper
(called BIOS Recovery Jumper)

Extract all the files from the update package to the root directory of a DOS bootable
USB Flash Drive.


Please follow the steps to create the Crisis Recovery Diskette.

	Prepare USB disk on key(or Floppy) for recovery.
	1) Format USB disk on key (or Floppy)with fat12/fat16 format.
	2) Copy ROM image and rename it to AMIBOOT.ROM

	Recovery method:
 	  1) Set jumper J30(PIN 5-6)  to on.
	  2) Plug USB Disk on Key(or Floppy).
	  3) Power on computer wait for recovery process complete.
	  4) Unplug USB Disk on Key(or Floppy) & set J30(PIN 5-6) back to off.
	  5) Re-start computer & load BIOS default.

                            Notes

	  1) Every time when you update your flash rom, please use the current tools 
and .bat file, since we changed BIOS ROM file name from V0.40 to V0.50. When you want
to flash between two versions which have different rom name, please add /X after afudos 
or afuwin. Please dont populate QPI mismatch CPU for test.
          2) please refer to the release note for the use of cmosconf.
          3) Notes:  In the following description,
             "not installed" - BIOS not supported yet.
             "not complete"  - BIOS has support but function is not complete"
