-------------------
Hardware Limitation
-------------------

1. The firmware v2.12P requires 4M-bit flash memory equipped controller
hardware. Earlier hardware revisions of DA-2100 cannot be upgraded
to firmware v2.12P and it can only be upgraded to firmware v2.11E.

2. To verify if your DA-2100 is equipped with 4M-bit flash memory,
please follow the "How to Check the Firmware Upgradibility" section
   below.

3. You must upgrade the firmware v2.11E first, then upgrade the
   firmware v2.12P.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrade Firmware from v1.22O to v2.12E Using Text RAID Manager v1.9C
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Only controllers with "FW Upgradibility: B" can upgrade to firmware
v2.12P. Controllers with "FW Upgradibility: A" can only upgrade to
   firmware 2.11E.

2. Run Text RAID Manager v1.9C for DOS and select the
   "PCI Bus#=0 Device#=C | System Functions | Controller Maintenance |
Advanced Maintenance Functions" to download the firmware and boot_record.

3. Exit RAID manager and reboot the system.

4. Run Text RAID Manager 1.9C for DOS and select the
   "PCI Bus#=0 Device#=C | System Functions | Controller Maintenance |
Download BIOS" to download the BIOS v1.17B.

5. Exit RAID manager and reboot the system.

6. After you finished update the BIOS and firmware, You can configure DA2100
by enter "Ctrl+I" at BIOS initial state and select "Configure RAID" item,
or you can run Text RAID Manager v2.1 to configure DA2100.
All previous versions of Text RAID Managers will not work correctly in
   firmware 2.11E or later.

---------------------------------------
How to Check the Firmware Upgradibility
---------------------------------------

1. Upgrade the controller firmware to v2.11E or later :
The firmware v2.11E is the latest firmware for controllers not
equipped with 4M-bit flash memory. Please use the Text RAID Manager
v1.9c to upgrade the BIOS, firmware with boot record together.

2. Start using the Text RAID Manager v2.1 :
After the firmware/BIOS/Boot Record upgraded, please start to use
the Text RAID Manager v2.1. All previous versions of Text RAID Managers
will not work correctly in firmware 2.11E or later.

3. Check the firmware upgradibility :
   a. Use the Text RAID Manager v2.1 or press the "Ctrl+I" at BIOS initial state
      to check the firmware upgradability.

In the example of using DOS:

		A:\> \raidman\dos\raidman.exe

   b. Choose the controller from screen by pressing <ENTER>.

   c. Choose "Terminal Emulation".

   d. Choose either "ANSI", "VT-100" or "ANSI+Color" on screen.

   e. Choose "View System Information" from Main menu.

   f. The "FW Upgradibility" tells the maximum firmware support of this
      controller.

If the "FW Upgradibility" shows "A" :
This controller is not able to upgrade to firmware
requires 4M-bit flash. The latest firmware for this
		hardware is v2.11E.

If the "FW Upgradibility" shows "B" :
This controller is equipped with 4M-bit flash memory.
Please follow the following procedure to upgrade the
		latest firmware v2.12P.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrade Firmware from v2.11E to v2.12P Using Text RAID Manager v2.1
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Run Text RAID Manager v2.1 for DOS and select the
   PCI Bus#=0 Device#=B -> Controller Maintenance -> Download Firmware

2. Exit RAID manager and reboot the system.

3. Run Text RAID Manager v2.1 for DOS and select the
   PCI Bus#=0 Device#=B -> Controller Maintenance -> Download BIOS

4. Exit RAID manager and reboot the system.
