Feature Change/Enhancement

This ASM Pro V4.50 release including the following features 
enhanced from ASM Pro V3.3x:

1. ASM Pro Console
==============
a. ASM Pro Console now support data accessing by RPC with service provider.
b. ASM Pro Console now has SAM (System Alert Manager) which is a newly redesigned 
   alert handling mechanism.
c. Can snap-in into CA UniCenter, HP-OpenView and can be launched with the single information window.
d. Can co-operate with Microsoft SMS.
e. ASM Pro console now support newly designed utilities, ASM Pro MIF Browser and Remote Console
f. Enhanced Asset Manager which can support Software asset and asset history.
g. For special BIOS support, ASM Pro Console provides the utilities for CMOS setup 
   and flash BIOS remotely.
h. Remote console is supported.
i. RDM Console is integrated with ASM Pro Console

2. ASM Pro Server Agent

a. Internal Structure re-structuring to make system more stable.
b. Support Local Console for NT system.
c. Support DMI instructmentation code for NT system.
d. Can snap-in into MMC.

3. BPB Agent

Limitations
***********
1. In order to use Fax functions You need to install Microsoft
   Exchange Client in the console system
2. If you are using Microsoft Exchange Client for your MAPI service 
   provider for FAX function, the Fax function will only work 
   on Windows 98 not windows NT (because Microsoft Exchange Client in 
   Windows NT does not have Fax service)
3. IP Auto-Discovery function limitation
   (1)C class Sub-Net - all 255 nodes
   (2)B Class Sub-Net - The last 255 nodes
   (3)A Class Sub-Net - The last 255 nodes
4. Default resolution is set to 800 by 600 not ordinary 640 by 480
5. Netware interprets ASPICD as an additional hard drive controller card.
6. Slot information does not have the information about the device 
   attach to it
7. The Server discovery option in the ASM Pro MIB browser need Agent side
   support MIB-II MIB to work properly
8. Pager function will not apply to all different area/country
9. Netware Agent will interpret some HDD Controller & the device attached to it incorrectly.
10. For UnixWare7, the MAC address is not supported.
l1. For NT and SCO Openserver environment, with the Mylex installed, the Storage Information 
    places the Mylex devices under Adapter controller(aic78u2) instead of dac960nt.     
12. For SCO Openserver environment, the ASM Pro agent can detect the Mylex controller, but fails
    to detect the drive model name.
13. In Netware 5.x and Linux agent, there is no processor performance shows in ASM Pro console, 
    because our application can not always get correct processor utilization information.
14. Backplane agent can not support both Mylex and DPT RAID cards installed in the same system.
15. In RDM station, if boot-from-driveA is the only choice of rebooting RDM agent, we recommend you 
    to choose callback when choosing reboot methods in EMP console.
16. After uninstallation of ASM Pro agent, the files under [ASM Pro agent installation directory]/asmlog will
    not be deleted. These files provides asset logs and event logs which are useful for expert users 
    to analyze system statics.
17. If you want to clean up the event logs in ASM Pro agent, please remove a file named "/asmlog/asmevent.log" 
    under ASM Pro agent installation directory.
18. When you start your Windows NT/Windows 2000, ASM Pro agent need some time to collect necessary informations.
    So please wait at least 30 seconds(depends on speed of your system) to use local console or ASM Pro console.
19. If you have installed/upgraded your IE to version 5.5, please notice that there are some hyperlinks on
    the first page of SAM will not work.
20. If you have installed Acer Remote Console on your system, please remove it before installing ASM Pro console,
    or choose custom installation and unselect Remote console when you install ASM Pro console.
21. For Windows 2000, RDM station can NOT use "boot from drive A" function.
22. Only NT/2000 Agent supports BPB agent.
23. For Windows 2000 agent, the default value of security of SNMP service is Read Only. User has
    to set the security of SNMP service to Read/Write. If the security of SNMP service is Read/Only, 
    the setting operations from ASM Pro Console will fail.
24. Remote Console lock function fail in Windows 2000 Server environment, but it would not affect the function.
25. External modem for RDM function should be connected to COM2 in Server side.  But for Altos R500, it should be
    connected to COM1.
