						FIR DRIVER INSTALLATION FOR WINDOWS98
						=====================================

This instruction describes the process of installation the FIR driver from the
Win98 CD-ROM. If you want to update it to any newer version please refer to
the "FIR DRIVER UPDATING FOR WINDOWS98" document.

1. If using Eval board:
	- Control Panel -> Add New Hardware -> "No, device isn't in the
list" -> "No, I want to select the hardware from a list" -> Network Adapter ->
your IR Adapter (NSC-PC87338 FIR, for instance). If you can't find your desired
card in the list then select Have Disk and set the location to the CD drive ->
Insert Win98 CD-ROM, select OK -> Finish -> When prompted to restart
	computer, select No.
	- From Control Panel -> Network -> select your IR Adapter -> Properties ->
Select the proper Transceiver in Advanced and IO Address range, DMA and IRQ in
	Resources. Select OK.
	- Restart the computer.

2. If using PnP board:
	- After plug in the card, restart the computer. Since it's plug and play, the
OS will search for the driver and install it automatically, using the driver
	provided in the Win98 CD-ROM.
	- The transceiver will be set to the default value. If it does not match with the
transceiver that you are using, you can manually change it by going to Control
Panel -> Network -> your IR Adapter's Properties -> Advanced.
	- Restart the computer.
