Introduction:
=============
  This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced
  functions by setting the custom keywords.

  Location of Driver:     \W98&2000\ALN325.SYS

Contents of the Subdirectory:
=============================
    ALN325.SYS          The NDIS5 driver for Windows 2000.
    ALN325.INF          The installation information file.
    ALN325.CAT          catalog file for NDIS 5 driver

Installation:
=============
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter
  is properly installed and configured.

   1.Because Windows 2000 has built the driver for ALN-325,so when you plug
     the ALN-325 in the mother board and power on the Windows 2000,the
     Window 2000 will install the driver of ALN-325 automatically.

     You will see there is a item
     "AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100 Base-PX Fast Ethernet Adapter"
     in the 'Network adapters' list in the Device Manager.

     The Device Manager can be invoked by choosing Start\Control Panel\System
     \Hardware (Tag)\Device Manager (button)

     We recommend you to install the updated driver from the distributing disk.

   2.Invoke the Device Manager.
     Right click the item
     "AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100 Base-PX Fast Ethernet Adapter"
     in the 'Network adapters' list,and choose Properties.
     There will prompt the AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100 Base-PX Fast Ethernet Adapter
     Properties window.

   3.Click the Driver tag,and choose the 'Update Driver' button.
     There wll prompt a Upgrade Device Driver Wizard window.
     Click 'Next'.

   4.The Wizard will ask you
     What do you want the wizard to do?
     Please choose
       Display a list of the know drivers for this device so that I can choose a
       specific driver.
     Click 'Next',then it will prompt a 'Select Network Adapter' window.

   5.Click 'Have Disk'.
     In 'Install From Disk' window,type the following path in the combo list.
                a:\W98&2000
     Click 'OK'.

   6.There will show
                'AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100M Ethernet Adapter'
     in the 'Network Adapter' field.
     Click 'Next'.

   7.There will show
                'AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100M Ethernet Adapter'
     in 'Start Device Driver Installation' window.
     Click 'Next'.

   8.Windows 2000 will copy the driver and system files for the network.
     If there prompts a Digital Signature Not Found window,please click 'Yes'
     to continue the installation.

   9. Finish the 'Update Driver',and the updated driver will work for ALN325.

   10.You will see
      "AcerLAN ALN-325 10/100M Ethernet Adapter"
      in the 'Network adapters' list.

Change the property of ALN325:
===================================
    There are some properties that you can change for your application.

    1. Connection Type: 100M Full Mode
                        100M Half Mode
                        10M Full Mode
                        10M Half Mode
                        Auto Mode       (Default value)

        You can change the speed to be 10M or 100M and change to be the Full
        duplex or Half duplex.
        The default value is Auto Mode,i.e. ALN-325 will talk with connection
        Hub or Switch with auto-negotiation to decide the optimal connection
        type.

    2.  Enable PME:     Disable
                        Enable          (Default value)
                        Hardware Default

        You can set the behavior of the PMEEN register.
        In Disable,the PMEEN bit is always set to be 0 in spite of the OS
        operation.
        In Enable,the PMEEN bit is always set to be 1 in spite of the OS
        operation.
        In Hardware Default,the PMEEN will be 0 in the initial state and it
        will be changed by the OS operation.
        When PMEEN is 0,ALN-325 will NOT be able to trigger the PMEEN signal.
        When PMEEN is 1,ALN-325 will be able to trigger the PMEEN signal.

    3.  WakeUp Frame:   Disable
                        Enable          (Default value)

        In Disable,the WakeUp Frame function will be disable.
        In Enable,the Wakeup Frame function is Enable.

