====================================================================

- The Operating System drivers included in this Software kit 4.04
  support Mylex controllers with 4.x firmware or later.

 SCO OpenServer Driver Diskette
==============================
  - Make \Drivers\SCO\diskimg the current directory
  - Place a 1.44MB DOS or Windows formatted diskette in drive A:
  - Double-Click on the file "mdacsco5.exe"
  - Follow the instructions on the screen

- There is no Tape or CD-ROM support for SCO Unix 5.0.x connected
   to an AcceleRAID 352, eXtremeRAID 2000 or eXtremeRAID 3000
   controller. GAM Server will report these devices if they are
   connected, but they lack full functionality.

- Under Unix Operating Systems, after upgrading to the
   version of Disk Array Controller Driver or Global Array Manager
   included on this CD-ROM, all older utilities that are no longer
   supported by this SWKIT will be removed from the system.

   These include: "dacmond", "dac960tk", "rbldsh" and "dac960sh"

- The following conditions can occur when a SCSI CD-ROM drive
   is attached to an AcceleRAID 352 controller and there is no
   media inserted in the CD-ROM drive:

     SCO OpenServer
     --------------
     The system will hang when switched to Multi-user mode. When
     media is in the CD-ROM drive, the system works fine.

     Note: These conditions will only occur when Global Array
            Manager Server is loaded under SCO OpenServer/UnixWare.

How to create Global Array Manager Server/Driver Installation
Diskettes for SCO OpenServer
=============================================================

The following instructions should be executed on a Windows 2000,
Windows NT, Windows 9x or Windows ME system. From the Mylex
Solution CD (Autorun) select the Create Software Diskettes menu then
follow the prompts to create the Global Array Manager Server
diskettes for your specific Operating System.

You may also create the Global Array Manager Server diskettes
manually by launching Windows Explorer, with the CD-ROM drive
selected as the current drive, and use the directories described
below for your specific OS.

SCO OpenServer GAM Diskette
===========================
  - Make \Gam\SCO\diskimg the current directory
  - Place a 1.44MB DOS or Windows formatted diskette in drive A:
  - Double-Click on the file "gamssco5.exe"
  - Follow the instructions on the screen

- If you are currently using an existing version of GAM Server,
  Mylex recommends that you do not uninstall this version prior to
  upgrading to the version included on this SWKIT CD. With the old
  version still installed and running, just insert the SWKIT CD and
  run the new setup.exe application by choosing the 'Install Global
  Array Manager' option from the Main Menu of the Autorun
  application. Follow the procedures documented in the SWKIT
  Installation Guide and User Manual to install the GAM Server
  software.

  The reason for this is as follows:
  If an old GAM Server (2.21-xx) is uninstalled and no reboot
  is performed, installing GAM server from the CD-ROM will
  result in the GAM Driver not loading on the next reboot.
  This will not occur if the user installs the new server over
  the top of the old one while it is still running.

  If the existing GAM Server has been uninstalled, be sure to
  reboot the system before installing the new version from this
  SWKIT CD-ROM or the files which has been down loaded from the
  Mylex web site.

- If the GAM Server & Workstation Array Manager are installed on
  the same system and one of them is uninstalled, the other will
  no longer work because the GAM Driver will get uninstalled.

- The Global Array Manager Server is not supported on Windows 9x.
