Power Console Plus Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
===========================================

Bug Fixes:
---------

1. The index for the Progress sub menu item was incorrect. This was fixed.
2. When any Initialization or Consistency Check operations are in progress, Power Console Plus will not allow a user to exit properly. This was fixed.
3. Sometimes When the network cable is not present, Power Console Plus fails to connect to RAID_SERVER in Windows Server 2003. This was fixed.
4. Reconstruction on a degraded logical drive was not working properly. This was fixed.
5. When using an external utility like MegaCtrl, the pool paged bytes of Power Console Plus was increasing repeatedly. This was fixed.
6. Power Console Plus does not show the Check Consistency progress in Full Access mode when started from an external utility like MegaCtrl. This was fixed.
7. When you right click on an online physical drive (without selecting it) and select remove, Power Console Plus does not start reconstruction. This was fixed.
8. Under the Adaper menu, the Battery Status sub menu is not disabled even when the battery is not present. This was fixed.
9. Power Console Plus does not show the Check Consistency progress in Full Access mode when started from an external utility like MegaCtrl in the Network Mode. This was fixed.

ENHANCEMENTS:
------------

1. Added password protection both in local mode and in network mode for Power Console Plus.
2. Added support so that the correct logical drive size is displayed if the logical drive size exceeds
    1 teraByte (1012 bytes).
3. Added a feature to display the NVRAM Event Logs.
4. Added a feature to show bad hard drive blocks after a rebuild completes if applicable.
5. Added the feature so that the default write policy will be set to write back if battery pack is present.
6. Removed EZRPC dependency from MegaRAID Console Plus.
7. Added a Temp Offline RAID feature under the Adapter menu.

A new menu item Enable/Disable Temp Offline RAID was added under the Adapter main menu. The menu item will read the current status of the flag from the firmware and show either Enable or Disable Temp Offline RAID. Under Full Access Mode the flag may be turned off or on. Under View Only mode the flag is read only.

8. Added a feature to differeniate the Background Initialization events and logs from Consistency Checks events and logs.
9. Debug message for DeviceIoControl was returning an error. This was fixed.

Monitor Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
================================

Bug Fixes:
---------
1. Data initialization was corrected.

ENHANCEMENTS:
------------

1. S.M.A.R.T polling code is enabled.

S.M.A.R.T polling (enabled by default at start of the service, unless specified otherwise) allows polling of S.M.A.R.T predictive failures of the physical drives.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Component Features & Limitations:
================================

Monitor
-------

	-12 MegaRAIDs (SCSI) support
-Supports 8-logical drive supporting firmwares on cards such as 428/434/467/490
-Supports 40-logical drive supporting firmwares on cards such as 471/493/475/518/520
-Monitors and reports change of status of
		Logical Drives
		Physical Drives
		Battery
-Allows running of check consistency on valid logical drives at scheduled time (specifiable thru
         megactrl.exe utility)
-Allows reporting of consistency checking progress at a programmable interval
-Allows monitoring of Predictive Failure of physical drives (SMART polling) since ver 5.09 of
megaserv.exe and ver 5.04 of megactrl.exe(GUI) or higher with this feature ON.
Note: For successful detection of SMART events, service component needs be run on
         LSI generic firmwares(8-ld and/or 40-ld)
-Logs distinctive message for Background Initialization and Consistency checking, if supported by
         underlying firmware(that support 0xA4/0x13 command).
IF the firmware does not support 0xA4/0x13 command megaserv.exe will not be able to distinguish background Init from consistency checking it will be reported as consistency checking.

	-MegaCtrl.Exe program allows
                - start/stop/pause/resume of service component
                - allows consistency scheduling
                - S.M.A.R.T polling schedule capabilities
                - stops consistency check operation from running
                - consistency checks progress reporting frequency decisions

LIMITATIONS:
-----------

For successful detection of SMART events, service component needs be run on LSI generic firmwares(8-ld and/or 40-ld) . The same is true about reporting of physical drive failure history as there are some data length difference for some firmware commands for different OEMs.
